The unwritten rules that govern the fights and outright wars between ‘capes’ have been amended: everyone gets their second chance.  It’s an uneasy thing to come to terms with when notorious supervillains and even monsters are playing at being hero.  The world ended two years ago, and as humanity straddles the old world and the new, there aren’t records, witnesses, or facilities to answer the villains’ past actions in the present.  One of many compromises, uneasy truces and deceptions that are starting to splinter as humanity rebuilds.

None feel the injustice of this new status quo or the lack of established footing more than the past residents of the parahuman asylums.  The facilities hosted parahumans and their victims, but the facilities are ruined or gone; one of many fragile ex-patients is left to find a place in a fractured world.  She’s perhaps the person least suited to have anything to do with this tenuous peace or to stand alongside these false heroes.  She’s put in a position to make the decision: will she compromise to help forge what they call, with dark sentiment, a second golden age?  Or will she stand tall as a gilded dark age dawns?

AN: The basic premise is this: shrines from LoZ Breath of the Wild appear in Brockton Bay, as well as a tower and sheikah slates, and they grant all the powers they do in the game. The precise time and place that the Queen Administrator, suborned by the Earth-born Ethereal Asaru, made Taylor The Commander of XCOM.

Sometimes, a one in a million occurrence can let someone play their hand again. But sometimes, that second chance can be mistaken for something else entirely. Sometimes though, sometimes it all works out for the best.

Noah Midkiff is an OC who moved to Brockton Bay to get away from his past. This is the story of the ripples he causes. The world is slightly AU with a few changes that will be revealed later in the story.

Taylor has the ability to craft SCPs, granted to due some shenanigans that will be revealed later.

In which Taylor and her mother had a bit more of a green thumb, and someone else took notice.

Six new heroes come to Brockton Bay, as well as a powerful object from their home. Perhaps they can teach one the meaning of being a hero, in a world where good and evil are not cut cleanly.

Taylor Herbert is left in the locker for far too long, and Daddy Herbert is not amused, and so begins the return of the first villain, the dragon of the end times, the corpse eater, Nidhog.

Taylor Hebert died in the locker. But instead of staying dead she rose again, now armed with the power to crush the gangs and those that wronged her. Don't worry though, there's nothing left to fear but fear herself.

Leviathan has destroyed Brockton Bay, and Taylor Hebert has lost everything she had. Now, as a teenage refugee in Chicago, she is trying to rebuild a life for herself as a vigilante. However, everything in Chicago is not as it seems, and parahuman supervillains fight side by side with vampires. And that hero guy, Myrddin? He claims he's actually a wizard called Harry Dresden.

New Dehli is recovering from Behemoth's attack. Full, uncensored footage of the battle has been released online. Heartbreaker's mansion is far away from any cape tragedy, but the real world is about to sneak in, and it has a serious vendetta.

Getting reborn into a world of superheroes should be awesome. Instead, its a world threatened by godlike entities and most people aren't even aware of it. Still, at least I know a good way to stay out of trouble!...I just jinxed myself, didn't I? Crossover elements.

When one reaches the bottom, the only way to go is up. Taylor takes a few extra seconds in an emergency to help an acquaintance, and breaks the story . . .

Taylor triggers with the tinker ability to make Pokemon. Things sort of take off from there. This Taylor will seem a little different from canon Taylor because she triggered at a different point.

Taylor Hebert dies in the locker. Then she wakes up in her grave, changed. Powerful. With faint memories of a life not her own. And why does she dream of a castle in the mountains?

When considering the Simurgh, it is fair to theorize that all of canon was a Simurgh plot to put Taylor in the best possible position to save the world. But what if the Simurgh decided to take a more direct role in shaping Taylor's story? Short answer? Butterflies. Lots of them. Long answer? Read on!

Twenty years after the events of Worm, humanity struggles to continue on. A severely diminished population and shattered infrastructure has left humanity in dire straits; some places live in relative closeness to the modern day, while others are closer to the dark ages. Strange creatures roam the lands, people gain super powers, and even basic commodities like gasoline can be hard to secure.

The story focuses on a young man named Jordan, a mercenary with simple dreams. But dreams are always difficult to realize, and sometimes a person is pushed in strange directions. And in this dangerous world, sometimes it’s the ones with hope that will suffer the most, and be the most dangerous.

An 8-year-old gains powers after a suicide attempt gone wrong, and has to deal with his depression and absurd amount of power. Begins a few months before Worm starts. Powers are based on the Avatar, combined with a variant on Labyrinth's power.

The world first saw Harry Bailey in a photo kneeling on a road before the Endbringer the Simurgh. The Simurgh's psychic scream drove entire cities mad. In Harry, it woke something else entirely. He never told the heroes what happened. After all, how could a young boy explain memories he could not possibly have, of a powerful, ancient sorcerer from a universe that preceded his own?

Taylor has a not-so-sweet week leading up to her sixteenth birthday, as a thief runs amok.)

Granted powers from another world, Taylor Hebert must deal with a world of Capes who want to kill her once they discover that she can permanently steal powers.

A minor change in her trigger event leads to a different expression of Taylor's power. Faced with a power both ridiculous and terrifying, how will she deal with the path laid out for her? It goes somewhat differently after that, as her call for help is answered by something from a lot further away than one might expect...

A story in which Taylor makes a very large friend, the world gets confused, and Danny comes into his own.

From sb: I’ve read several stories where an alt!power Taylor (usually Tinker) gets kidnapped/blackmailed into working for Coil when, in canon, he was much more inclined to use the carrot as opposed to the stick when it comes to his subordinates. I wrote the first chapter as a one shot, showcasing how Taylor might willingly end up working for Coil and posted it in the Worm Idea Thread. Got enough of a positive response that (once I settled on a plot) I expanded it into a full story.

A self insert that doesn't know of the setting he's fallen into, lost and at a loss. Someone that doesn't even understand the power and shackles forced upon him. A butterfly hurricane dropped into Brockton Bay before a certain girl planned to go out as a hero.

Basic premise is that the SI arrives at the worst possible moment, when the original team drops Cadmus's ceiling on Blockbuster. The Worm half is where the powers come from. I honestly debated handing him Kaneki's powerset from Tokyo Ghoul but decided that would be too angsty.

It is the 45th Millennium and the galaxy is dying. On the verge of victory over the Imperium, the Chaos forces have proven unable to stem the tide against the Great Devourer and its trillions of Tyranids. Only one option: cross the dimensions, find a hero able to triumph where billions have utterly failed and change the course of the past...

During her time with the Protectorate, Taylor is called into Philadelphia to deal with a mysterious group of antiheroes.

It's the 1800's, and the Western Frontier is plagued by Cowboys, Bandits, Indians, Gunslingers, and most importantly, Cloaks, people with supernatural abilities far beyond the limits of mortality.

One of these Cloaks is Sophia Hess, a young but experienced twenty-something drifter, travelling from town to town to satisfy her need for action, doing good deads along the way. Armed with a revolver, a crossbow, a breaker-ability and her wits, and assisted by her loyal steed, Jumper, she took on a mission through a dangerous stretch of desert, delivering much needed medical supplies to a lonely frontier town by the name of Brockton Gulch, where the young heroine, known as the fastest gun west of the Mississippi, will stumble into a dangerous plot, that leads her and her new allies through bandit camps, trains, boarding schools, airships and Aztec temples.

When Taylor Hebert controlled bugs, she killed a god. When she can create soul severing swords with abilities so numerous and powerful that the Endbringers themselves are left in terror? Run, god. Run far, far away.

Post-canon Taylor Hebert has been supplanted into the Wheel of Time. She will emerge from one of the mirrors during the Bubble of Evil that strikes the Stone of Tear in The Shadow Rising, ending up barely conscious in Rand's room. She will quickly fall into a deep sleep after blindly assisting in the fight, whereupon she will be treated - mostly without effect - by the resident healers.
