The unwritten rules that govern the fights and outright wars between ‘capes’ have been amended: everyone gets their second chance.  It’s an uneasy thing to come to terms with when notorious supervillains and even monsters are playing at being hero.  The world ended two years ago, and as humanity straddles the old world and the new, there aren’t records, witnesses, or facilities to answer the villains’ past actions in the present.  One of many compromises, uneasy truces and deceptions that are starting to splinter as humanity rebuilds.

None feel the injustice of this new status quo or the lack of established footing more than the past residents of the parahuman asylums.  The facilities hosted parahumans and their victims, but the facilities are ruined or gone; one of many fragile ex-patients is left to find a place in a fractured world.  She’s perhaps the person least suited to have anything to do with this tenuous peace or to stand alongside these false heroes.  She’s put in a position to make the decision: will she compromise to help forge what they call, with dark sentiment, a second golden age?  Or will she stand tall as a gilded dark age dawns?

Taylor triggers with chemical tinker powers. Basically, her Shard injects knowledge into her brain to help her make chemicals of various kinds - from drugs to poisons to acids or whatever else. The Shard also allows for her to more easily mix these chemicals and form them, by encouraging the right molecular bonds and such while she tinkers in proximity to the chemicals. She can develop any kind of chemical, drug, whatever that she'd ever need - and can create interesting drug/chemical reactions to do various effects.

Can gift people permanent "powers" via specially designed tinker chemicals/drugs.

Danny and Annette Hebert had a dark secret long before their daughter Taylor was born. Now widowed, Danny finds raising his daughter harder than he expected. When he finds out that she is being bullied, his reaction may be ... extreme.

This fic came to me while reading PGtE because you could practically swap Catherine and Taylor and have the stories vary very little. So I wondered to myself, what would it be like if two queens of escalation with morally dubious choices got together? Well, a whole lot of goblinfire, biblical plagues, and general fuckery. Since my search on SB of fics for PGtE revealed a grand total of none, I decided that this was my calling. For those of you not familiar with a Practical Guide to Evil, here is the weblink. It's a weekly updating web serial about Catherine Foundling, an orphan who likes to do the wrong things for the right reasons. The first book is a bit slow and cliche, but that's intentional and pays off greatly in book two. Imagine the start of Worm, but if Taylor actually had a sense of humor and a bit less angst. The series is still on-going and I highly recommend picking it up. This fic: A crossover between the two. It starts with Taylor ending up in Calernia, the world of PGtE. Where it goes from there, we will have to see. The fic occurs after the Echnida incident in Worm and after Book 2 in PGtE. It updates when it updates.

Six new heroes come to Brockton Bay, as well as a powerful object from their home. Perhaps they can teach one the meaning of being a hero, in a world where good and evil are not cut cleanly.

Taylor's story doesn't always need to start in the Locker. Nor does her power need to be granted by Scion. What if a golden being a little more ... benevolent decided to lend a hand?

So, this story features Taylor as protagonist, within an alternative universe of Worm. She also has an alternative power. Instead of insect control, she is a tinker focused on simplistic disposable minions.

Annette Hebert loved Greek and Roman myths and literature. She had quite the collection before she died, and now that collection belonged to her daughter, Taylor. Taylor has been having a hard time. Between a father drowning in grief and alcohol, the betrayal of a one time close friend, and constant harassment by her peers, among other things, it is thanks to her mother's books that she has managed to stay sane. And now she is a Tinker who specializes in robotics, and a Thinker on top of that. Maybe it would be healthy for her to get a new hobby to take her mind off of everything. Look out world! The modern day Daedalus has arrived!

Leviathan has destroyed Brockton Bay, and Taylor Hebert has lost everything she had. Now, as a teenage refugee in Chicago, she is trying to rebuild a life for herself as a vigilante. However, everything in Chicago is not as it seems, and parahuman supervillains fight side by side with vampires. And that hero guy, Myrddin? He claims he's actually a wizard called Harry Dresden.

Instead of Endbringers, a different kind of menace makes itself known, forcing any sort of cops and robbers game into the back of anyone's mind. Survival of the human species against such a threat was more important, and anyone who took advantage of that was dealt with swiftly. The PRT is hiring more and more people for their hunting squads, no matter the age, and with benefits like that it's hard to say no. Especially if you're wanted for murder or a lot of armed robberies.

What happens when you throw your average nerd into a universe as messed up as Worm? He dies, rather quickly in fact. But if you power him up before tossing him to the wolves. That my friends, is when things start to get interesting.

When in the locker Taylor get several strong, versatile powers given to her by an outside factor. She instantly uses this to break out of the locker and attack Sophia and Emma, a lot of trouble ensues. So ROBs are used in the beginning to give her power. Magic will play a minor or major roll depending on how it turns out.

A CYOA Story with a twist, an SI with no knowledge of the setting but the ability to escape anything except his fate.

Andrew Ruebs just wanted stability. For himself, his mother. Something that, in a city like Brockton Bay, is incredibly hard to come by. A violent gang altercation results in this becoming impossible. Forever changed, Andrew suddenly has the power to bring some semblance of stability, if not for himself, then for the city at large. It's time for the Bay to Pick It's Poison...

Taylor triggers with the tinker ability to make Pokemon. Things sort of take off from there. This Taylor will seem a little different from canon Taylor because she triggered at a different point.

So, the other one I've posted. I'm working on a few at once. Not healthy, but I live for writing.

Twenty years after the events of Worm, humanity struggles to continue on. A severely diminished population and shattered infrastructure has left humanity in dire straits; some places live in relative closeness to the modern day, while others are closer to the dark ages. Strange creatures roam the lands, people gain super powers, and even basic commodities like gasoline can be hard to secure. The story focuses on a young man named Jordan, a mercenary with simple dreams. But dreams are always difficult to realize, and sometimes a person is pushed in strange directions. And in this dangerous world, sometimes it’s the ones with hope that will suffer the most, and be the most dangerous.

The world first saw Harry Bailey in a photo kneeling on a road before the Endbringer the Simurgh. The Simurgh's psychic scream drove entire cities mad. In Harry, it woke something else entirely. He never told the heroes what happened. After all, how could a young boy explain memories he could not possibly have, of a powerful, ancient sorcerer from a universe that preceded his own?

Granted powers from another world, Taylor Hebert must deal with a world of Capes who want to kill her once they discover that she can permanently steal powers.

Who needs to be a hero? Taylor gets a sniper rifle and delusions of grandeur.

Daniel 'Danny' Hebert, the head of hiring and spokesperson of the Workforce Association, was visiting the hospital. Some might ask him why, and he would tell them. Someone had put his daughter in the hospital. Someone had attacked his family during her time in school. Daniel did not know who. He did not know why. But there was going to be hell to pay.

Taylor is kidnapped and stuffed into a cryopod by a Grineer science/raiding party in 2009 while at summer camp. The Grineer’s ship suffers a malfunction and is trapped in the Void. Taylor wakes and is eventually discovered by a Tenno party.

Sometimes two minds aren't better than one. Driven to the verge of suicide by bullying, Taylor gains the ability to copy powers permenenatly...and minds, memories, and emotions. As she struggles with depression and the drastic changes that each new 'self' creates in her, starting with Sophia, she also tries to create a movement and be a hero. But punching someone is far harder than fixing the broken world, especially when you're a girl with a broken mind. Psychological. Mentally mixed-up Taylor.

A minor change in her trigger event leads to a different expression of Taylor's power. Faced with a power both ridiculous and terrifying, how will she deal with the path laid out for her? Two things to note: One, while this will be humorous, it will also be very dark. I don't write pure crackfic. Secondly, all songs and lyrics belong to their respective writers and singers.

Basic premise is that the SI arrives at the worst possible moment, when the original team drops Cadmus's ceiling on Blockbuster. The Worm half is where the powers come from. I honestly debated handing him Kaneki's powerset from Tokyo Ghoul but decided that would be too angsty.

Taylor Hebert, bullied here, does a few things differently and winds up meeting a very different Undersider, in rather different circumstances. Rachel is a main character, btw. Minor AU.

Annette Hebert used to read Alice in Wonderland to her daughter every night, and now instead of triggering with control over insects, she triggers with a fractured mind that brings wonder and insanity to Brockton Bay.
