In which a certain piece of jewelry changes the balance of power.

The TL;DR version of this is that Jack Slash, after killing King, isn't as much of a murderhobo than in canon. Because of this, Jack decides to take the Nine in a new direction; they are now one of Brockton Bay's most prominent gangs.

Jack Slash is killed during his encounter in Brockton Bay. The result of this is Scion's rampage being delayed for another fifteen years, or if it doesn't happen then, it could even be an indefinite hiatus.

Still, as society is slowly crumbling and the Protectorate gets desperate for more capes because of the Endbringers, a few politicians and PRT higher-ups eventually come to a conclusion after Rebecca Costa-Brown retires. Open the Birdcage, which is now home primarily to the second generation cape children of the inmates - with aging or dead original inmates being all that remains beyond them.

The leaders of the Birdcage, upon hearing this, demand to negotiate with leaders in person outside of it, or else they won't negotiate at all. The PRT/Protectorate is desperate, and so agree to those terms. Alexandria, because she hasn't aged a day since she joined the Protectorate, now leads it, as Legend has aged to the point of retirement, and Eidolon only shows up for Endbringer fights at this point in his career.

This is the story of those children, fifteen years after the death of Jack Slash and the end of the Nine.

Amelia Claire Lavere is a couple years older than in canon when the Brigade attacks Marquis in his home. During injuries Marquis suffers in the battle, Amelia confronts the Brigade and seeks to aid her father, triggering when he falls unconscious because of his injuries with her canon powers. She saves him. Marquis goes to the Birdcage, but Brandish will not have Marquis' daughter in her home. The Brigade can't afford to take her in, and Amelia fears her father's enemies will come for her.

Many years later, Amelia has been living on the streets. She's learned to fend for herself and cares for the ill or injured of those who also find themselves without a home. Those who would threaten her will find themselves dealing with the various biological weapons she's made to defend herself. She is generally left alone by the gangs because she isn't seen as worth it, as she only protects those without a home and who have no affiliation to any one gang.

She sometimes appears in hospitals, to offer her healing for free, but sometimes she does it in secret, healing those who cannot heal by themselves. Even waking coma patients and such. Amelia resents New Wave, and Brandish especially, for her situation. This is the story of Amelia Claire Lavere.

In this power-swap/AU, there are a few differences. First off: there are no Endbringers (yet). Secondly: the unwritten rules aren't as sacrosanct, and heroes are much harsher towards villains because of harsher rules/laws.

The Triumvirate is formed up of Legend, Alexandria, and Anansi (the last of which has a very strong level of bug control). Taylor, however, got a living version of Eidolon's shard... I'll explain what this means in a spoiler.

A father decides to conquer the world for fun, profit and to keep his daughter safe (Evil Genius Inspiration)

A bad day and alot of frustration pushes Taylor too far and wakes her mothers legacy. Now Taylor has new powers and responsibilities but that doesn't mean she can't have a little fun.

Taylor gains powers in the locker; this much is familiar. But the power she gets, and what she does with it, begins to change things around considerably. Faced with the pressure of the power she has, and official apathy, she must make her own decisions, and take a different route to achieve her goals. There will be trouble.

Taylor woke to the sensation of falling. The world seemed to spin around her as she tumbled down, images flickering past her much too fast for her eyes to catch. Below her, she could see a checkerboard floor growing closer and closer. She closed her eyes, bracing for impact. Suddenly, a gust of wind from below caught her and her fall slowed to a crawl. She felt her dress (wait, why was she wearing a dress) puff up around her and slow her fall almost like a parachute. Her feet touched down gently, with a soft click against the tiles. “What the…” She shook her head, trying to remember how she’d gotten here. The last thing she remembered was the darkness of her locker and then… falling. She looked around the small room, but it was frustratingly empty, save for a mirror on the wall behind her and a door ahead of her. The hole above her was too shrouded in shadow for her to actually see where she’d fallen down from, so that was no help. She walked over to the door and carefully opened it, revealing a hallway nearly identical to the room she was in. “What on Earth…”

Two and a half well intentioned fools find themselves in the Worm Universe, gifted by Abaddon, the third entity. In their attempts to save some, they may just doom all. SI based on the Worm CYOA Update Gimel.

A game will be played. And it will leave a mess in its wake. A game of life and death at their absolute extremes. A game of Eight Heroes trying to claim the Ultimate Reward.

But the game is yet to be played, it's too soon, as the Players aren't ready, and their guardians are scattered, some yet to even meet their wards. Besides, Agents must be employed to both set it up and clean after it.

And so we watch a 1997s Brockton Bay serve as an initial stage. Where both the misplaced Agents and the guardians would converge.

Taylor couldn't say getting thrown into that world was bad for her, even if she had to leave pieces of who she wanted to be behind to do it.

A fluke application of a device made by L33t lands a fanfic Taylor Hebert, Deputy Commander of Wards ENE, into the canon timeline during the fallout of the Empire 88 Unmasking. Things escalate from there.

In one world, Taylor Hebert became a villain by accident. In another, Taylor gets some mentoring in villainy.

Taylor triggers with the ability to swap bodies with people on a pseudo-line-of-sight basis and spends most of her time as SPOILER.

Taylor will be hers. She doesn't have a choice.

Six new heroes come to Brockton Bay, as well as a powerful object from their home. Perhaps they can teach one the meaning of being a hero, in a world where good and evil are not cut cleanly.

So, this story features Taylor as protagonist, within an alternative universe of Worm. She also has an alternative power. Instead of insect control, she is a tinker focused on simplistic disposable minions.

Mind the Gap

Taylor Herbert is left in the locker for far too long, and Daddy Herbert is not amused, and so begins the return of the first villain, the dragon of the end times, the corpse eater, Nidhog.

Instead of Endbringers, a different kind of menace makes itself known, forcing any sort of cops and robbers game into the back of anyone's mind. Survival of the human species against such a threat was more important, and anyone who took advantage of that was dealt with swiftly. The PRT is hiring more and more people for their hunting squads, no matter the age, and with benefits like that it's hard to say no. Especially if you're wanted for murder or a lot of armed robberies.

When in the locker Taylor get several strong, versatile powers given to her by an outside factor. She instantly uses this to break out of the locker and attack Sophia and Emma, a lot of trouble ensues. So ROBs are used in the beginning to give her power. Magic will play a minor or major roll depending on how it turns out.

During the Leviathan battle, things change. A young girl named Riza gets a very strange power, Taylor gets a voice inside her head, and Brockton Bay is about to get a few very strange visitors. The story will have an amount of butterfly effect to it, following the cannon very closely and diverging as the small changes take hold.

A CYOA Story with a twist, an SI with no knowledge of the setting but the ability to escape anything except his fate.

Andrew Ruebs just wanted stability. For himself, his mother. Something that, in a city like Brockton Bay, is incredibly hard to come by. A violent gang altercation results in this becoming impossible. Forever changed, Andrew suddenly has the power to bring some semblance of stability, if not for himself, then for the city at large. It's time for the Bay to Pick It's Poison...

The author wakes up in Brocton Bay with the powers of a Psychic from Stars Without Number 1e. Now, all he has to do is survive Leviathan, invent future technology, level well past the average, and try not to be driven insane by his own powers. Should be simple, right? Contains some fourth wall breaking/poking, themes of depression, and a plot partially driven by dice rolls.

This fic came to me while reading PGtE because you could practically swap Catherine and Taylor and have the stories vary very little. So I wondered to myself, what would it be like if two queens of escalation with morally dubious choices got together? Well, a whole lot of goblinfire, biblical plagues, and general fuckery. Since my search on SB of fics for PGtE revealed a grand total of none, I decided that this was my calling. For those of you not familiar with a Practical Guide to Evil, here is the weblink. It's a weekly updating web serial about Catherine Foundling, an orphan who likes to do the wrong things for the right reasons. The first book is a bit slow and cliche, but that's intentional and pays off greatly in book two. Imagine the start of Worm, but if Taylor actually had a sense of humor and a bit less angst. The series is still on-going and I highly recommend picking it up. This fic: A crossover between the two. It starts with Taylor ending up in Calernia, the world of PGtE. Where it goes from there, we will have to see. The fic occurs after the Echnida incident in Worm and after Book 2 in PGtE. It updates when it updates.

My head swims as I fade in and out of darkness. I retch miserably, bringing up nothing but bile as I struggle to recall why this is happening again.

Taylor triggers with the tinker ability to make Pokemon. Things sort of take off from there. This Taylor will seem a little different from canon Taylor because she triggered at a different point.

Taylor triggers as a Tinker (oh god not another one) with access to the Cybran tech tree from Supreme Commander. If you've read A Cloudy Path (and you should) things will start at least a little bit familiar, but keep in mind Cybrans fight very different than Aeon. The Cybran tech is the extent of the AU/crossover, there won't be any surprise visits from Dr. Brackman or other SupCom bits and pieces, and any changes from canon are either a direct result of Taylor's different powers or my own genuine mistake. If I dun goofed about canon, let me know and I'll fix it if at all possible.

Taylor snapped in the locker, triggering with Glaistig Uanie's power set. She goes on a rampage, causing Emma to trigger with a special Tinker power. After weeks to months of hunting Taylor down, they finally manage to pin her and trap her inside her own special prison. Pandora's Box. Years later, Tattletale, Kid Win, Foil, and Parian spring her free in order to stop the slow and eventual destruction of the world. A journey ensues.

An accidental collision of space time techniques sends an ordinary shinobi to Brockton Bay. She'll need all of her common sense and good judgment as she finds her feet in a new world. With new friends by her side, Tenten will have to decide if she's going to fit in or if her new home is going to have to fit her.

Granted powers from another world, Taylor Hebert must deal with a world of Capes who want to kill her once they discover that she can permanently steal powers.

Someone wants to help Taylor, but that someone also doesn't wants the multiverse to die, and his only clue on how to achieve this is that she is the main protagonist, and that she has to suffer a lot. Well... shit.

After a tragic accident, one author makes a deal they don't understand and end up in the worm universe, stuck as Taylor Herbert's bodyguard, emotional counselor, in house assassin. Basically you name it, and the Newley christened Moira Grey is now it for one Taylor Herbert.

Basic premise is that the SI arrives at the worst possible moment, when the original team drops Cadmus's ceiling on Blockbuster. The Worm half is where the powers come from. I honestly debated handing him Kaneki's powerset from Tokyo Ghoul but decided that would be too angsty.

Clockblocker found a new video game to play. Now, normally, there wouldn’t be anything odd about this. After all, the Heroes’ break room does include a TV with various movies and games for anyone who wants to unwind, which Wards like Clockblocker and Kid Win and Protectorate members like Assault and the recently graduated Triumph like to make use of. Even the fact that the game stars them isn’t all that odd, as there were plenty of promotional games that include heroes, both real and fictional, in some way. What was odd, though, was the nature of the game itself. For one, no one had heard of the game, not even the studio that supposedly made the game in the first place. No one seems to know who left the game in the collection, either, and the title, “Worm: Earth Mem” was somewhat odd as well. What did worms have to do with anything? Most shockingly, though, was how… well informed this game seemed to be.
