Siren Song is the 'adventure' of Sebastien Vasil, wayward son of Nikos Vasil, attempting to wrestle with the Gamer powerset that was dumped atop his own, original one. There are some other AU elements but that's about it. I wanted to play with the concept of one of the other Heartbroken because I like them as an idea, and I hope to see more of them in Ward.

The main thrust of this story is the unmitigated PR disaster that is a Hunter Taylor in the Wards. Why the Wards? Because Taylor is her own supplier and was high on Tinkermeth at the time.

Yes, it's that kind of fic. Expect OOC for the sake of situational comedy. Do not expect canon compliance.

It was night time and most of the residents of Brockton Bay were asleep in their homes. There were few capes patrolling the streets in order to fight crime at the moment while the only criminals left on the streets were those who mainly operated at this time of night. This was what helped people miss the fact that over the bay, multiple pieces of what looked like metal fell from the sky and into the cold waters of the bay. While many wouldn't have noticed it, as these pieces were under the water, they all started joining together towards one piece that looked like a head with its eyes closed.

I posted some parts of this over in the wormverse thread over time, but it kinda needs a proper thread. This is an alt-power fic, not a crossover with anything. Title is in reference to Gilderoy Lockhart, though the power's not magic - I imagine you'll figure out why I chose it. Cheers.

But the game is yet to be played, it's too soon, as the Players aren't ready, and their guardians are scattered, some yet to even meet their wards. Besides, Agents must be employed to both set it up and clean after it.

And so we watch a 1997s Brockton Bay serve as an initial stage. Where both the misplaced Agents and the guardians would converge.

Every child likes to imagine what it would be like to have superpowers. To be able to do marvelous feats like shooting bolts of lightning, or flying, or healing wounds as if they were nothing. They imagine themselves as the next Legend, the next Alexandria or Hero. They think that they'd be willing to pay the price to get these amazing abilities. I did. If only I could get a refund

Taylor gains monstrous, vampiric powers and is adopted by Faultline's Crew.

A fluke application of a device made by L33t lands a fanfic Taylor Hebert, Deputy Commander of Wards ENE, into the canon timeline during the fallout of the Empire 88 Unmasking. Things escalate from there.

Six new heroes come to Brockton Bay, as well as a powerful object from their home. Perhaps they can teach one the meaning of being a hero, in a world where good and evil are not cut cleanly.

So, this story features Taylor as protagonist, within an alternative universe of Worm. She also has an alternative power. Instead of insect control, she is a tinker focused on simplistic disposable minions.

She instantly uses this to break out of the locker and attack Sophia and Emma, a lot of trouble ensues. So ROBs are used in the beginning to give her power. Magic will play a minor or major roll depending on how it turns out.

Well, this Crazy-Big Idea (formerly known as Brockton Bay Batty) seems to be growing into an actual story, so I'm collecting all the bit's I've done so far and reposting it here in its own thread as the first chapter, retitled as The Power of Epona. Wherein I do a self insert - as an alternate power in place of Taylor's canon Bug Control.

The author wakes up in Brocton Bay with the powers of a Psychic from Stars Without Number 1e. Now, all he has to do is survive Leviathan, invent future technology, level well past the average, and try not to be driven insane by his own powers. Should be simple, right? Contains some fourth wall breaking/poking, themes of depression, and a plot partially driven by dice rolls.

All tinkers have voices in their heads, telling then to take over the world and show them all, right? Big thanks to my betas for helping me in this.

The world first saw Harry Bailey in a photo kneeling on a road before the Endbringer the Simurgh. The Simurgh's psychic scream drove entire cities mad. In Harry, it woke something else entirely. He never told the heroes what happened. After all, how could a young boy explain memories he could not possibly have, of a powerful, ancient sorcerer from a universe that preceded his own?

Karna had found himself summoned into the world of Worm by the World itself. Yet, for what purpose? As Karna tried to find out the reasons, he had to protect his young charge, as well as dealing with a plethora of heroes and villains, monsters, authorities, and children. With his level of human-relation skills, how bad could it get?

From sb: I’ve read several stories where an alt!power Taylor (usually Tinker) gets kidnapped/blackmailed into working for Coil when, in canon, he was much more inclined to use the carrot as opposed to the stick when it comes to his subordinates. I wrote the first chapter as a one shot, showcasing how Taylor might willingly end up working for Coil and posted it in the Worm Idea Thread. Got enough of a positive response that (once I settled on a plot) I expanded it into a full story.

A worm Peggy Sue fic in which Skitter circa the Noelle fight finds herself launched backwards through time, arriving in the midst of her ill-fated first meeting with Emma and Sophia. Needless to say, Taylor isn't given the option of trying to ride out the past unchanged and the resulting Temporal Butterfly Garden may as well have it in for her sanity...

A SI, using Worm CYOA v4 wt rouge section, into Worm 2 years before the start and follows cannon even if there is a few deviations. Also adding things from Halo, Titanfall, Fallout, Bioshock, and maybe others i have not thought of yet.

Taylor triggers with Pirate Powers. Will be a mix of crack and adventure, updated intermittently as I have the free time. If you have suggestions for famous pirates to draw inspiration from, I'd love to hear them! I already have plans to include: Treasure Island, Pirates of the Caribbean, League of Legends, Princess Bride, Flying Dutchman, Peter Pan, and some tangential references to Redwall and Pippi Longstockings, as those are all source materials that I'm familiar with. Twice Angra Mainyu was rejected by the Grail War’s victor and twice it was nearly destroyed. Twice Angra Mainyu has been made a fool of, but it had learned its lesson well. Using the dimensional gateway the Greater Grail has to the Root, Angra Mainyu pulls itself and the entirety of the Holy Grail into a new reality in hopes that it will have more luck there. However, at the same time another entity was seeking to make a connection.​

You squirm in your chair, uncomfortable. The chair itself is plush and made from a fine material – genuine leather, maybe? – but something doesn’t let you find a comfortable position. Something.

You keep your mind focused on the ticking of a clock situated at the far end of the room. It’s old, made of wood and metal and grit and time, and the ticking sound of the pendulum – that’s what its called, right? – might as well be the report of a rifle in the quiet of the room. Though it’s not so much the sound, you do live in Brockton Bay after all, but the fact that it’s even there in the first place. It’s just . . . out-of-place. You haven’t seen an analog clock in years, or at least a working one. Winslow, shithole that it is, sometimes has cheap, plastic clocks hanging on the walls. Half the rooms don’t have them, and most students and teachers use their phones to check the time.

Welcome to my new quest. Now, first and foremost, I have run quests before on different sites, under different aliases, but I've never precisely run something on a forum like SB/SV before. It's a bit different than what I'm used to, but I'll try my best. I'm used to a very fast-moving quest, a post every ten minutes with instant votes, but I'll try to keep the pace a bit more sedate for this new environment. This is a Worm Quest, and you guys are going to be playing an original character who knows... well, a lot. Almost as much as someone who'd browsed through the story knows. His name is Echo, and he is a parahuman who has lived and died and lived and died repeatedly for centuries. His memory isn't quite perfect, and he doesn't quite know everything... but he gets the gist. His power doesn't quite fit the 'theme' of normal powers- almost on the scale of an Outside Context Problem- and there's a reason for it. Only time will tell if you learn precisely why that is.

AN: The basic premise is this: shrines from LoZ Breath of the Wild appear in Brockton Bay, as well as a tower and sheikah slates, and they grant all the powers they do in the game. People start completing the various challenges, competing to get the most spirit orbs. This is not video game mechanics though, those are silly. The one good thing about this is it isn’t an alt-powers, so be glad of that. The bad thing is I will most likely horribly mangle whatever character is chosen to be he protagonist.
